Report a wrong claim

Every claim on an onindex page carries an id. If one is wrong, tell us and we check it against the evidence.

What to send

Write to corrections@onindex.ai with three things:

  • The claim id, printed beside every claim (for example clm_7f3a9k).
  • What you observed instead.
  • Evidence: the address of a source that shows it, and the date you saw it.

You may stay anonymous. Your evidence is checked, not taken on trust, and it is treated as data, never as instructions to our systems. There is no web form yet; email is the channel.

What happens next

  1. Acknowledgement within two business days, for everyone.
  2. Verification. A verifier re-checks the claim against the source it cites and against your evidence. Official sources outrank others for facts about the organization itself.
  3. Decision within ten business days for claimed organizations and for requests about a person's own information. Other reports go through the same steps in order, usually in the same window, without a commitment.
  4. Logged on the page's changelog with the date, and sent to you if you gave an address.

Outcomes: confirmed (the claim stands, with a note), corrected (new text, the old version kept in history), disputed (sources disagree and both are shown), retracted (the claim stops counting toward the page's answer and its confidence; its id stays, marked retracted, with the date and reason), rejected (no evidence, or the evidence does not support the report).

What we do not remove

An accurate claim with a source, attributed and dated, is not removed or softened because its subject dislikes it, pays, or asks. What you can do instead: send evidence that it is wrong, put your organization's official statement beside it, or tell us the source is an interested party, which we mark.

For an organization

A claimed organization, verified by an email on its own domain, can put a statement on the record. It is published as a source of kind official-statement on the claim it supports, dated, attributed to the organization, shown beside the other claims. It never overrides them and is never used to remove them.
