onindex terms of use

Status: version of 2026-10-25, published as our current practice. A lawyer's review is pending and may change the wording. Not legal advice. Two commercial terms are still open and marked in {braces}.

1. Who we are and what these terms cover

onindex is run by doop Technologies Inc., a federal corporation based in Ontario, Canada. These terms cover onindex.ai, its pages and files, the onindex tool for AI agents, the API, the accuracy reports and claimed organization pages. By using any of them you agree to these terms, the privacy policy and the corrections and removal process. If you act for an organization, you confirm that you may agree for it.

2. Reading and using pages

Every public page is free to read and fetch, by a person or an AI agent, for any purpose, with attribution: name onindex and link to the page you used, and keep the claim id when you quote a single claim. No account or key is needed to read.

Not allowed:

Facts are not ours to own; these terms are a contract about using our service.

Open, decision D11 pending: the licence on published claims (an open licence for older claims, whether training on pages is permitted, a commitment to open all stable pages if we close, are sold or are compelled to alter a claim). This section is rewritten when D11 is decided.

3. The reports and the API

An accuracy report tells you what AI assistants answered about your organization on a stated date and how each answer compared with your official sources. A subscription repeats the check on the schedule of its tier and alerts you when an answer turns against your official sources. Prices, tiers and what each includes are published on the pricing section of our site and are part of these terms; paying customers get thirty days' notice of a price change by email, and a founding price stays yours for as long as you stay subscribed.

Where an API key is issued, keep it secret; calls made with it count as yours. We may slow down or suspend a key used to bypass limits, manipulate pages or break the law.

4. Claimed organization pages

Any organization can claim its page and receive what the never for sale page lists, and nothing it says is never for sale.

5. What we do not promise

We do not promise that a page or a report is correct, complete or current. Pages and reports are produced by automated readers reading identified sources and by asking AI assistants, and both can be wrong. What we offer instead is a method you can check: every claim shows its sources and when it was read, every verified claim was read twice by two separate readers, every report says which assistant answered what and which pages it relied on, and the method is published at onindex.ai. If a claim or a verdict is wrong, the corrections and removal process is the remedy.

We do not promise that any AI assistant, search engine or person will read, cite or act on a page or change what it says about you.

6. What onindex is: an index, not a publisher

Each claim reports that an identified source said something on a stated date. It is not our assertion that it is true. Where sources disagree, we record the disagreement instead of choosing a side. We flag claims that only one source makes. We do not go beyond what the sources say, and we never state an opinion as a fact. When shown an error, we correct it quickly and visibly.

7. Limits on our responsibility

To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect losses arising from a page, a report, the tool or the API, and our total responsibility to you is limited to the greater of the fees you paid us in the previous twelve months and {cap amount}.

Nothing here limits responsibility the law does not let us limit, and consumer rights under the Ontario Consumer Protection Act, 2002, or the consumer law where you live, stay in place.

8. What we ask of you

Do not manipulate pages: no invented sources, no coordinated feedback, no official answer that is not true. Do not bypass limits or use onindex to break the law. Feedback you send is evidence: we may publish the claim id, what you observed and the source you cited, never your identity unless you put it in the text.

9. Changes, ending and law

We may change these terms. Every change is dated on a public changelog, with thirty days' notice by email to paying customers it affects. We may stop offering a service with notice, refunding prepaid fees for the unused period.

Ontario law, and the Canadian law that applies there, governs these terms. Disputes go to the courts of Ontario, unless consumer law where you live says otherwise.

10. Contact

corrections@onindex.ai for corrections, privacy requests and questions about a page or a report. The corporation's registered office is in Toronto, Ontario; its address is given on request and appears on every invoice.
